About us

Lorekeeper Studio produces films, immersive visual environments, and promotional media for museums and other cultural institutions. We specialize in mythology, folklore, and legendary narratives — working with stories shaped by oral tradition and passed through generations.

We are situated in Basel, Switzerland, and work internationally.

Our Philosophy

Why Myths and Folklore Matter Today

Mythology and folklore are living systems of meaning — stories that encode a culture's deepest questions, fears, and values. Shaped by oral tradition and communal telling, these narratives evolve with each generation while retaining their essential spirit. In an age of fragmentation, myth offers coherence. In an age of surface, it offers depth.

We do not attempt historical recreation. Our work evokes the emotional and symbolic landscape of these stories — their atmosphere, their resonance, the questions they hold.

Fields of Lore

Our specialisation when working with cultural institutions

Mythology

Sacred narratives about gods, creation, and cosmic order. These stories explain origins and structure meaning within a culture — answering fundamental questions about existence, death, and the nature of reality.

Folklore

Everyday stories, beliefs, customs, and traditions passed through communities. Local, mutable, and deeply tied to place — the household spirit, the haunted crossroads, the ritual that marks the season.

Legends

Quasi-historical tales told as if they could be true. Stories about specific people, places, or events — grounded in real locations but embellished with miracles, magic, or heroic feats that grow larger over time.

What we create

Interpretive films

Stories that deepen understanding

Short narrative films designed to help visitors better understand specific objects, themes, or historical contexts within an exhibition. These films extend the exhibition experience by providing accessible explanations and storytelling that connect artifacts with their cultural and mythological meanings.

Immersive narrative installations

Worlds and stories unfolding in space

Large-scale visual installations designed to create atmosphere and immerse visitors in mythological or legendary worlds. These works combine projection, animation, sound, and spatial design to transform exhibition spaces into living environments. Visitors encounter both world-building and storytelling as they move through the gallery, experiencing narratives that unfold across space and time.

Concept-driven promotional pieces

Ideas that introduce cultural events

Short cinematic works created to communicate the concept and atmosphere of cultural events and exhibitions. These pieces go beyond traditional promotion by translating curatorial ideas into visual narratives, helping audiences understand the theme, tone, and significance of an event before visiting.

Lorekeeper Studio Lab

Fantasy and experimentation

Beyond collaborating with cultural institutions in the fields of mythology, folklore and legends, we create original entertainment content that blends ancient lore into fantastic worlds for contemporary audiences.

This is the way for us to experiment and master our storytelling and filmmaking techniques, while obtaining instant feedback from modern audiences.
